Dear Colleagues

Due to the rapidly changing landscape in mental health services both locally and nationally, Fife Health and Social Care Partnership is reviewing its current Fife Mental Health Strategy “What Matters to You?” 2013-2020.  It is proposed that the new Mental Health Strategy for Fife will be implemented from April 2019 to 2023.

Fife Health and Social Care Partnership is seeking views from a variety of stakeholders, which will inform the Strategy and shape the future for mental health related support services in Fife.

To assist in the consultation process, we are asking senior managers within Health and Social Care to take responsibility for cascading information and seeking feedback from their teams for submission to us for consideration.  If you have any team/management meetings during January can you please discuss the review with your staff.  Please circulate this information to your team managers for discussion at their own team meetings.  This should ensure we undertake as wide a consultation as possible, in the short timescale, and capture the views of as many staff members as we can.

In addition to feedback from staff, a survey link has been circulated to the public for feedback via online and social media channels.

The review consultation document below provides an overview of the process.  This contains the link to the online survey.  We have also included a separate feedback form which will allow staff to provide some additional information about their experiences of mental health services in general – either from an internal or external point of view if they wish.  Finally, we have attached a register of attendance form which should be completed by all teams being consulted with.  Please return all the forms to Jo-Anne Carstairs, Health and Social Care, 5th Floor (North), Rothesay House or by e-mail

If you have any staff who do not have access to e-mail or internet we can provide a hard copy of all of the attached and the survey.  This can be requested by e-mailing

Thanking you in advance of your assistance.
